chinese lattice for windows, textiles, rugs and...embroidery

J'ai toujours été attirée par les claustras chinois, les motifs imbriqués que l'on retrouve dans les tapis et tissus asiatiques. Je me suis donc inspirée de l'un de ces motifs pour cette broderie ( je suis désolée: je ne me souviens pas de quel magazine j'ai découpé la photo d'une veste chinoise; Peut-être Marie-Claire Maison)

J'ai fait quelques recherches sur le web et j'ai découvert que ces motifs imbriqués étaient répandus en chine, au japon et au tibet , accompagnés souvent d'un autre motif de bon augure comme les chauve-souris ou le noeud sans fin (l'un des 8 symboles auspicieux du bouddhisme)

J'ai mis pas mal de temps à comprendre et à dessiner ces motifs, quelques jours pour faire la broderie et un jour de plus pour tracer la grille au propre sur du papier à carreaux et à faire le montage en "gri-gri" porte-bonheur avec les perles. J'ai beaucoup aimé toute les étapes à parcourir et le résultat.

I have always been attracted by lattice design in chinese windows, rugs and textiles. So I decided to get inspired by a chinese motif from a photo (I'm sorry: I don't remember where I found it! Perhaps Marie-claire Maison...) for this embroidery. As I made researches on the web I discovered this very intrication motif was used in China, Japan, tibet often with another motif as the "bat" or the infinite knot , one of the 8 auspicious symbols in bouddhism. It took me a long time to understand and draw the design , some days to make the embroidery and one day more to trace the definite grid on a cartesian graph paper and to make the setting . I enjoyed a lot all the process and the result.
